Sulphur Chemicals on the Sandstone TrailPhoto: Chris Tomlinson and Mike Gerahty from the Sulphuric Acid Complex are pictured with Jane Hunt, Alder Hey Childrens Hospital . Alder Hey Children's Hospital will benefit from a cash windfall of over £750 thanks to kind-hearted employees of Sulphur Chemicals in Runcorn. The money will further boost funds for the hospital's Rocking Horse Appeal which has been set up to raise money to build a new Oncology and Outpatients unit.A 20-strong team of walkers from the business braved the elements to complete a 20 mile stretch of Cheshire's Sandstone Trail from Beeston Castle to Frodsham Hill and despite many aches, pains and blisters all 20 completed the walk. Chris Tomlinson, plant superintendent, "The star of the event was, Joanne Stevens, five feet of sheer energy who arrived with enough equipment to climb the north face of Everest. She could just about put one foot in front of the other after donning her pack!" The team also raised £200 for a local under 11's football team which will be used to buy a new strip. Next year, the team are hoping to raise even more funds for local charities by walking up three mountains in Wales in under twelve hours. For enquiries contact the Press Office: Craig Welsh
