Chemicals For Life
Local residents to ICI Chlor-Chemicals' site in Runcorn are soon to receive the ninth community calendar which has become a regular event for more than 4,000 homes and businesses in the Halton area.The 1999 calendar is based on the theme of 'Chemicals for Life' and illustrates just how essential Chlor-Chemicals' products are in the manufacture of many everyday things - from soaps and detergents through to compact discs and pharmaceuticals. "ICI approached us to help with the photography for their calendar and the students really enjoyed the project. They've worked very hard and this is reflected in the standard of the photography. This project has helped the students not only in their coursework, but also to gain some real life job experience." comments Peter Chandler, visual arts course leader. The community calendar is distributed free of charge and provides local residents with important information about ICI's emergency instructions. The calendar is also available from local information points, libraries and council offices.
