Safety Reaps Rewards

Safety conscious employees at Chlor-Chemicals are using their excellent safety performance to help Kosovar refugees. Staff at the Electrochemical Technology part of the business have donated £600 to the crisis appeal to mark ten years of injury free operation.

Some seventy five staff achieved this impressive safety record by adopting a culture which puts workplace safety high on the agenda and in recognition the employees decided to donate their reward to a worthy cause.

Adrian Tattershall, business manager, commented:- "This record isn't down to any special initiatives, but is simply a reflection of the fact that everyone in the business is very safety conscious all the time."

Runcorn and Northwich sites were recently awarded a record ninth Gold Medal Award by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents for performance in occupation safety.
