The ball, at the Chester Moat House Hotel, had a nautical theme. The raffle was also hailed as a huge success with prizes donated by EasyJet and a sealed bid for Liverpool and Everton football club memorabilia. Barrowmore, situated on the outskirts of Chester, was founded in 1920 as a hospital for First World War servicemen. It now provides work, a home and support for more than 140 disabled people.
