Severn Trent Awards £1.5M Contract to Chlor-Chemicals

Severn Trent Water has signed a three year contract with ICI Chlor-Chemicals for the supply of liquid caustic soda.

The £1.5 million agreement makes Chlor-Chemicals the company's principal supplier of bulk caustic for water treatment.

Chlor-Chemicals account manager Ian Harry said: "This is a strategically significant contract at a time when we are focussing on expanding our share of the treatment market in the power and water utility sectors."

"We won the contract on the strength of quality of service and reliability of supply to water treatment plants throughout Severn Trent's region."

Severn Trent Water supplies in average of more than two billion liters of water per day for its 8.25 million customers.

Based in Runcorn, ICI Chlor-Chemicals is the UK's largest producer of caustic soda.
