Local Charities Receive Windfall PayoutsSafety conscious employees at ICI Chlor-Chemicals at Runcorn have raised £750 for local charities by carrying out a routine plant overhaul in record time and without any injury.The money will be shared between three charities in the area, Halton Haven Cancer Care Centre, McMillan Nurses and Leighton Hospital Special Baby Care Unit, each of whom will each receive £250. Martin Dunkley, new chief executive at Halton Haven said:- "We depend upon donations to further the work of the centre and look forward to the continued support of local businesses such as ICI." Rob Holt of Chlor-Chemicals, commented:- "A great deal of thanks is due to everyone involved in the overhaul for the high standard of safety awareness and quality of work shown, without which these goodwill gestures could not have been made."
