Anderton Nature Park Gateway Project

INEOS Chlor through the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme has provided funding to the Weaver Valley Initiative for a community project at Anderton Nature Park, Northwich.

The site is a former industrial wasteland which has now been transformed into a wildlife haven thanks to the assistance of Cheshire County Council and the local community group - Friends of Anderton and Marbury.

INEOS Chlor has contributed to this transformation by funding a stunning gateway project. The gates have been designed by artist Stephen Charnock. Stephen worked with pupils at the Russets school, Northwich. The design process started with a site visit. The children were inspired by the rich wildlife at the nature park. The area is noted for both dragonflies and unusual wildflowers which thrive in the lime rich soil.

The metal gates complete with dragonflies and beautiful flowers are due to be installed on site in April 2002.
