Safety Record for Workers at INEOS Chlor

Safety conscious workers at INEOS Chlor's chemical plant at Runcorn are celebrating after working over three million hours without a serious injury.

The achievement marks almost a year of continuous injury-free working by people at the plant and sets a safety record for INEOS Chlor.

Said Steve Yee, Business Safety Manager: "This is a real credit to everyone who works here. We take pride in our safety record and this is a massive achievement."

To mark the occasion INEOS Chlor is making a donation to Runcorn Fire Service to support their work on safety in the home.

Comments Steve: "This gesture reflects our attitude that safety is not just an issue for the workplace, but also in the home where most accidents can occur. We encourage all of our employees to think of safety as a 24-hour business."

INEOS Chlor was recently recognised for its outstanding safety performance with the achievement of a Diamond Safety Award from the Chemical Industries Association.
