INEOS Chlor Enterprises Opens New Centre for PEMCOAT in JapanINEOS Chlor's fuel cell component business, which supplies the leading range of PEMCOAT materials, is responding to increased demand in Asia Pacific by opening a regional base in Japan. The new centre will be located at existing INEOS offices in Tennozu Isle, Tokyo and managed by Tsuyoshi Yamamoto, the latest recruit to the PEMCOAT team. The decision to open the new centre has been taken in response to the growing needs of customers in the Asia Pacific region, particularly Japan and Korea where there has been a very high level of activity in fuel cell technology development. This further expansion of PEMCOAT activities comes after other recent appointments to support customers in North America and Europe. PEMCOAT is a range of proprietary materials developed by INEOS Chlor Enterprises, used as coatings for metal components in fuel cells and allied technologies. Fuel cells with PEMCOAT coatings offer higher power density and longer life and it is these characteristics that have attracted demand from developers of fuel cells for cars and portable devices. The PEMCOAT range of materials now includes options for hydrogen fuel cells, direct methanol fuel cells and water electrolysers.
