INEOS Chlor Recognised for Outstanding Safety PerformanceStaff at Runcorn based chemical manufacturer INEOS Chlor are celebrating this week after their company was recognised as running one of the UK’s safest manufacturing sites. For the fourth year running the site has received the prestigious Diamond Safety Award from the Chemical Industries Association (CIA). INEOS Chlor was one of only 22 companies across the UK to receive the top award, which is given to companies that can demonstrate year on year excellence in safety performance. Said Steve Yee, business safety manager: “We are absolutely delighted to be recognised so publicly for our site safety. Everyone who works at INEOS Chlor is encouraged to consider safety as their highest priority, and this proves that we are amongst the best in the UK when it comes to safety at work.” To qualify for a Diamond Award, companies have to meet tough safety targets for ten consecutive years; Runcorn Site has been receiving awards for safety excellence since the awards began in 1994. The award marks a double celebration for staff at INEOS Chlor, who also recently achieved 2 million hours working injury free.
