INEOS Chlor and AMEC sign BICHLOR agreement with Sichuan Shengda Chemicals, China. The INEOS Chlor - AMEC partnership in China has
won a contract to provide BICHLOR membrane electrolysers
to Sichuan Shengda Chemicals Ltd for their plant at Sichuan, which
could now become one of the leading chlor-alkali production sites
in China. The value of the contract has not been announced. It is the first project to be awarded in China to the INEOS Chlor - AMEC partnership, which was set up earlier this year to distribute INEOS Chlor BICHLOR technology and related design services for chlor-alkali plants. Sichuan Shengda Chemicals has chosen BICHLOR because it combines state-of-the-art technology with low power consumption, long component lifetime, improved production quality and enhanced safety. The latest membranes, coatings and materials of construction will be used and the BICHLOR plant will be provided with a total service package including on-site training and commissioning. The plant start-up is scheduled for late 2005. Roy Swift, Director of AMECs Shanghai-based
