INEOS CHLOR SHINES SPOTLIGHT ON LOCAL BOWLS CLUBLocal chemical firm INEOS Chlor has shed some light on Pavilions Bowls Club by providing a £300 grant towards improved pitch lighting. The gesture follows an appeal by bowls club member Peter Burton for help to repair the existing lights. Said Peter “The club provides a much valued focal point for local people, not just to play bowls, but to socialise. The new lighting will mean that we can stay open later into the evening, particularly towards the end of summer when the nights start to draw in.” Janet Ward, community relations manager said: “We’ve admired the tenacity of the bowls club in raising funds to keep their ground in tip top condition, we were only too pleased to help especially given that the club is such an important part of the social life for the local community.” The club plays in the Runcorn, Warrington and the Frodsham & District leagues and is currently near to the top of the Runcorn league. INEOS Chlor has an ongoing charitable support programme aimed at supporting local groups and charities in Halton. The company also funds a Green Action Grant Scheme, which provides money to local groups to improve their local environment. Grants of up to £1,000 are available to qualifying projects.
