INEOS CHLOR IN THE RUNNING FOR THREE MAJOR CHEMICAL INDUSTRY AWARDS

INEOS Chlor has been short-listed for three top chemical industry awards. The Company joins a small number of manufacturers from across the UK that have been recognised by the Chemical Industries Association for their outstanding achievements.

INEOS Chlor has been selected as a finalist in three award categories: Manufacturing Improvement, Responsible Care and Stakeholder Relations and is hoping to pick up an award at a special ceremony in Manchester on 7 July.

To qualify for the Manufacturing Improvement Award, INEOS Chlor impressed judges with how it has worked to secure its long-term future by improving productivity and profitability, achieving strict safety targets, attracting new customers and modernising the plants at Runcorn Site.

The Responsible Care Award will be presented to the company that can best demonstrate a continued improvement in all aspects of safety, health and the environment. INEOS Chlor is the only company in the North West to be short listed for this award, with judges noting that everyone working at the site was focused upon safety and that the Company was involved in range of initiatives to protect the well-being of staff.

INEOS Chlor is also in the running for the Stakeholder Relations Award, which will be presented to the company that has made the greatest effort to communicate with a range of stakeholders. INEOS Chlor has been short listed for its achievements in setting up a local community forum, which it runs with sister companies INEOS Fluor and EVC.

Comments Tony Traynor, Operations Director, "We are delighted to have been short listed for these three awards. Everyone at Runcorn Site is justifiably proud of their achievements and we are pleased that these achievements have been recognised by our industry peers."
