LOCAL CHEMICAL COMPANIES SIGN UP TO HALTON EMPLOYMENT CHARTERHalton People into Jobs has welcomed two new members to join over 800 local employers, to its initiative to secure jobs for the people of Halton. EVC UK Ltd and INEOS Chlor at Runcorn Site have signed up to Halton People into Job's Employment Charter, which seeks to place local people into local jobs. Both companies who between them employ around 1650 people at their Runcorn plants are taking advantage of Halton Borough Council's services when considering external recruitment. Said Jill Wilkinson from EVC: "We try wherever possible to recruit people from the local areas when filling vacancies at Runcorn Site. The site has strong links with the local community with generations of families working here and we would like to see this continue". A spokesperson for Halton Borough Council added: "We are delighted to have these two major companies on board and very much look forward to working with them." ENDS
