INEOS CHLOR AWARDED TOP MARKS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENTStaff at INEOS Chlor are celebrating this week after the Company was awarded the prestigious ISO14001 registration mark for Environmental Management by the British Standards Institute. ISO14001 is the internationally recognised standard for Environmental Management Systems that is awarded to companies that can demonstrate high environmental standards and compliance with legislation. Said Tony Traynor, operations director: "We are absolutely thrilled that we have achieved this standard, which reflects the hard work by everyone at our sites in Runcorn and Northwich. Everyone who works for INEOS Chlor is expected to have the proper regard for the environment and to help meet our environmental obligations." The Company was given the ISO14001 mark for its Environmental Management System, which sets out the framework for managing environmental responsibilities so they become more efficient and more integrated into overall business operations. Auditors from the BSI noted that staff at INEOS Chlor were "enthusiastically knowledgeable about the environmental aspects of their work". The latest environmental performance report for INEOS Chlor shows that its performance across a range of environmental measures continues to show an improving trend. ENDS
