YOUNG CRICKETERS BENEFIT FROM SUPPORT FOR THE SECOND YEAR RUNNING

Runcorn Cricket Club Junior Section, based in Moughland Lane Runcorn have, for the second year running, secured funding from local chemical manufacturer INEOS Chlor. The donation of £100 is in addition to a donation given to the club in 2004.

Runcorn Cricket Club caters for more than 50 boys and girls in the Under 11's, 13's, 15's and 18's teams. Training started again in January and due to increased popularity and an increase in numbers at the club there is a necessity to replace old and purchase new equipment.

Said Andy Story, Coach: "It's great that INEOS Chlor can help us out again this year, its continued support for the club is appreciated by all its members. The increase in numbers at the club is just what we want, but it does have a financial implication and that is why we value the company's sponsorship to help us continue."

Janet Ward, Community Relations Manager, INEOS Chlor adds: "We hope that our continued support for this local sporting club means that the young cricketers can continue to develop their cricket skills, and it's important that they have the right equipment to do so. It's great that the club is increasing its numbers and we are really pleased to be able to provide ongoing support to this club."

The older age-group sides play on Sundays while the U11's are in action on Tuesdays, staging home matches on alternate weeks to Runcorn's U18's youth side who are also members of the NCJCA.
