INEOS CHLOR SUPPORTS LOCAL VJ REMEMBRANCE PARADE

INEOS Chlor, chemical manufacturer with operations in Northwich, has provided a donation to the Burma Star Association (Northwich Branch) to help ensure that their VJ Day Remembrance Parade was all that it should be. The Company donated £200 to help the war veterans mark this important occasion.

The Northwich Branch of the Burma Star Association was honoured by being asked to hold the 60th parade to celebrate the end of the Second World War. The parade and service were held in St Luke's Church Winnington on Sunday 14th August 2005.

Says Janet Ward, INEOS Chlor's Community Relations Manager: "We were delighted to be able to support such an important event. The veterans who were involved deserve to be able to remember those who lost their lives and we were pleased that we could support them with their service and parade."

Don Hordle, Chairman of the Burma Star Association (Northwich Branch) said: "This is possibly the last time we will mark this occasion with a parade in the area. Many of the veterans taking part worked in the chemical industry and we are extremely grateful to INEOS Chlor for their support."
