INEOS CHLOR HELPS LOCAL GIRLS JOIN IN THE FOOTBALL
FRENZY
WE
all know that football is our national game - now local chemical
manufacturer INEOS Chlor is helping girls from Frodsham Junior Football
Club pursue their hobby whilst looking their best! The company provided
a £250 donation last year to supply a new football kit for
the newly established U14's team.
Frodsham
Junior Football Club has had a successful boys' section for many
years and after an influx of requests from the girls in the area,
training sessions were established in the autumn of 2003. The interest
was that great that over 50 girls turned up to the first training
session and the demand and appetite has increased steadily over
the last 2 years.
The
club now has 2 teams that play in the Cheshire Girls League at Under
10's and Under 12's age group and more recently a new U14's team
has been formed. INEOS has stepped in to kit the girls out in a
new team strip in the hope that this will provide team confidence
when they compete in their new league.
Said
Janet Ward, INEOS Chlor's Community Relations Manager: "As
a company we are always very keen to support local sporting organizations
and this group is particularly special as it supports the ethos
of 'Sport for all'. Traditionally football has been a male dominated
sport and we are proud to be supporting the drive to open up all
types of sport to all types of people. We wish the girls the best
of luck with their forthcoming matches and hope that they fulfill
their dreams."
Said
Tracey Malone, Assistant Secretary, Frodsham Junior Football Club:
"The interest shown by the girls of Frodsham in football has
been phenomenal and we are really pleased to have received this
financial support from INEOS Chlor. The girls really look the part
in their new kits."
