INEOS CHLORVINYLS GETS IN THE FESTIVE SPIRITLocal chemical company INEOS ChlorVinyls is getting in the festive spirit by donating Christmas hampers to schools in the Borough and funding the traditional Christmas tree in Weston Village. Eleven schools in the area have each received a hamper containing mouth-watering goodies donated by the Company. The Christmas tree in Weston Village is something the Company hasnt been involved in before as INEOS but when asked they didnt hesitate to support the request. Comments Janet Ward, INEOS ChlorVinyls Community Relations Manager: Delivering Christmas hampers is something we do each year as it provides the schools with an excellent raffle prize for the various fundraising activities they undertake at this time of year. This is the first time as INEOS that we have funded the traditional Christmas tree in Weston Village and as one of our closest residential areas it is an excellent opportunity to put something back into the local community. We believe that it is important for us as a company to support our neighbours and local schools and these gestures actions demonstrate that. Comments Noreen Curphey, who received a hamper on behalf of Weston Point Community Primary School: Were delighted to receive the hamper from INEOS ChlorVinyls. We receive one each year and we will be raffling it off at our school Christmas play, it always attracts plenty of attention and helps raise much needed funds for the school. Chris Rowe, PCC Member and Local Councillor said: We are very happy to have INEOS as one of our contributors as this demonstrates their community spirit to the people who live near to their operations. The Christmas tree is a tradition in Weston Village and means a lot to the local residents, it will be lit by the eldest child at Weston Primary School during the Christingle service on 13th December. Staff at INEOS ChlorVinyls are also raising money for a number of local good causes by making donations to charities rather than spending money on Christmas cards. ENDS
