INEOS CHLORVINYLS SUPPORTS LOCAL YOUNG CRICKETERS

Runcorn Cricket Club Junior Section, based in Moughland Lane, Runcorn have secured funding from local chemical manufacturer INEOS ChlorVinyls.  The donation of £250 is to be put to good use in replacing equipment that will benefit more than 60 children ranging from 7 to 18 years old.

This is the third time in recent years that the club has been supported by the Company and builds on the ongoing relationship that the Club and the Company share.  The Club will be purchasing new equipment, which is designed with safety in mind so that the younger children of the group can use it; this includes flexible stumps and small sized cricket and training balls.  This fits nicely with INEOS’ ongoing focus on safety.

Coach, Andy Story, said: “This is really good news for the club, the main focus this year was to replenish training equipment and match playing items.  This will enable us to ensure no child is unable to play due to lack of equipment and will allow us to expand the Junior Section further.”

Janet Ward, Community Relations Manager, INEOS ChlorVinyls added: “Runcorn Cricket Club is a worthy recipient of this donation, they continue to grow year on year attracting local children.  Clubs such as this deserve support as they provide a great environment for local children to ensure they build on their communication skills and establish a healthy lifestyle through sport.”

Runcorn Cricket Club are currently looking to increase their numbers, for further information on joining the Club please contact Stewart Conway, Runcorn Cricket Club Child Welfare Officer on telephone 01928 830400.
