INEOS ChlorVinyls Lifts Force Majeure
INEOS ChlorVinyls is pleased to announce it is lifting its multi-site Force Majeure for VCM and S-PVC as of 5 October 2009.
INEOS is now in a position to return to normal levels of supply for its customers.
By way of context, on the evening of 15 July a severe thunderstorm caused a major power failure at our Rafnes Site in Norway. This was significant enough to cause our VCM plant to shut down, and has resulted in major problems restarting vital process equipment.
The VCM plant at Rafnes has been operating at a reduced rate since the re-start and was taken down for a planned shutdown on the 18th of September. Current plan is for it to return to normal operations from mid of October.
We sincerely apologise for the inconveniences that this event has caused you, and appreciate your patience during this difficult period.
