LOCAL CHEMICAL MANUFACTURER SUPPORTS LOCAL DANCE GROUP Runcorn chemical manufacturer INEOS ChlorVinyls is providing financial support to local dance group Halton Komet Majorette Troupe. The Company is providing a donation of £200, which will provide much needed equipment and uniforms. Halton Komets are a local voluntary group comprising approximately 30 dancers in different age groups ranging from novices to seniors from across Runcorn. They strongly believe that the existence of the group provides the people of the Runcorn community with a hobby and also keeps the dancers fit and healthy. The Komets are totally self- funded and rely on donations from local businesses along with fund raising activities that they organise on a regular basis. The donation from INEOS ChlorVinyls will be used to buy new uniforms and equipment for the dancers. Comments Ann Whitehead, Troupe Principal, “We are very grateful to INEOS ChlorVinyls as their donation is of enormous assistance in enabling the girls to continue to dance out and hopefully bring home some medals. I truly believe in the importance of the group as its existence provides the young dancers with an interest and in turn helps in the fight against anti-social behaviour.” Janet Ward, Community Relations Manager, said, “We are thrilled to be able to support the Halton Komets and hope that the donation will make a difference. The dancers are all local girls and it’s always good to support our local community. I would also like to say well done to the girls in the dance competition on Sunday!” On Sunday 1st June the Halton Komets hosted a dance competition at Pavilions in Weston Point, Runcorn where approximately 20 troupes with dancers ranging from ages 3 to 25 from all over Wales and the North West took part competing for medals and brought home xxx (to be confirmed) medals.
