INEOS ChlorVinyls Announces Paste PVC Price Increase for Q3 2008

INEOS ChlorVinyls has today announced a €75 per tonne price increase for its paste PVC grades in Euro based markets. The increase is as a result of rising crude oil and related feedstock prices, which continue to add pressure on eroding margins.

Utility and logistics costs are also rising sharply, adding further pressure on margins within the entire supply chain.

A price increase of £80 per tonne is earmarked for the UK market as a first step in reducing the price differential between Euro and Sterling based accounts following a step fall in the exchange rate that, to date, has shown no signs of recovery.

The price increases are effective from 1 July 2008.
