Educational Liaison

As a leading player in the European chemical industry, INEOS ChlorVinyls has developed working links with organisations involved in primary, secondary and further education.

Specifically, we work with teachers and students from a range of academic institutions located near to our operations. For example, at our Newton Aycliffe Site in the UK we work in partnership with the Chemicals Industry Education Initiative to deliver an extensive primary science education programme based on the National Curriculum. We also work in partnership with the nearby Greenfield Community Arts College and host a variety of site visits by local sixth form colleges and university students, along with chemistry teachers from throughout the UK. In Norway, staff from our sites at Rafnes and Porsgrunn work as mentors at the Norwegian University of Science & Technology, whilst at our Stenungsund Site in Sweden we are part of an industry grouping that runs a technical education initiative known as TUNA for local schools. Over the last couple of years INEOS has contributed towards both the design of the educational programme and the provision of trainee placements at the Site.

INEOS ChlorVinyls also supports its own staff to gain a variety of work related training and education qualifications including national diplomas and university degrees.
